This is a 16-hours online learning (ZOOM platform) that will be conducted as an offering during the 2021 Annual Convention of the Critical Care Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CCNAPI). The topics during the conference will center on the characteristics of resilience, innovativeness, solidness and engagement of critical care nurses during this challenging time of the pandemic.

The program design will be a combination of synchronous (14 hours) and asynchronous (2 hours) workshop. The synchronous portion will comprise of plenary, scientific and free-paper sessions.  The asynchronous portion will be a workshop on the most relevant and current topics that will hone the critical thinking skills of the participants.

General Objective:

The program for the 2021 Annual Convention aims to provide the different characteristics of critical care nursing practice and nurses as they rise above the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic during this declared year of the nurses.

Specifically, the learning objectives of the program shall enable the participants to:

  1. Demonstrate enhancement of critical care nursing practice in adult, pediatric and neonatal population who are with critical illness pathologies.
  2. Discuss on the different evidence based practice guidelines on safety measures during COVID 19 virus pandemic
  3. Present measures that can prevent and alleviate potential patient safety issues in the ICU
  4. Discuss the different situation and COVID 19 response from the different South East Asian countries
  5. Provide opportunity to understand the various global perspective of care.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

  • A duly registered participant to the CCNAPI 2021 Convention may submit an abstract for review and acceptance for presentation.
  • The deadline for abstract submission will be on February 15, 2021, for review and acceptance.
  • The abstract may be submitted by email to [email protected] using the IMRAD form.
  • The abstract must be written in English and must be printed in the attached format (see attached Format Guidelines)
  • Abstracts will be reviewed for acceptance by the Scientific Committee based on the following criteria:

Applicability to Critical Nursing Practice

Clarity of Methodology

  • The abstract can be of single or group authorship.
  • Notice of acceptance for presentation will be sent out no later than February 17, 2021.

FORMAT GUIDELINES:

  • Abstract content shall be structured as follows: objective, significance, study, design, study population, method, the result(s), and conclusion.
  • Table graphs, illustrations, or figures should not be included and will not be printed for inclusion in the hand-out materials.
  • Standard abbreviations maybe use. Do not include historical descriptions or lengthy discussion in the abstract.
  • The number of words is 200 – 250 and must all be contained within the abstract frame of the format (excluding authors/ institutions)
  • The font shall be Times New Roman size 10pt
  • The left and right margins of the text should be 3mm.
  • The title must be in CAPITAL LETTERS in the upper field. It should not exceed three lines.
  • Author name(s), institutions, and department must be typed in the large field within the area delimited by the lines.
  • Identify the name of the presenting author by underlining the name
  • Surnames are CAPITALIZED. Indicate the organization, city, and country where the paper originated.
  • The body of the text should be typeset in upper and lower case, single-spaced. Special symbols, such as fonts, italics, underlining, bold, etc. except for the text subheadings.
  • Lectures will be pre-recorded for a maximum of 10-15 mins and recorded in mp4 format deadline of submission on Feb 20, 2021.
