Course Description:
This 24-hour online program provides an overview of critical care nursing practice, focusing on the physiological concepts necessary to understand common illnesses related to the cardiac, respiratory, and neurologic systems in adults, as well as pediatric hospitalization causes. The course fosters critical thinking by integrating knowledge of diseases, patient assessment, nursing interventions, and collaborative management.
This Course is intended for:
- Nurses working in or interested in developing critical care competencies.
This course covers:
- Conceptual Foundation of Critical Care
- Cardiovascular Assessment & Common Disorders
- Neurologic Assessment & Common Disorders
- Respiratory Assessment & Common Disorders
- Common Pediatric Emergencies
- Shock and Shock Syndrome
- Computation of High Alert Medications: Dosage, Concentration and Flow
- Understanding EKG tracings
- Hemodynamics Monitoring
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Neonatal Resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Methodology:
The course will utilize a blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning. Google Documents will be used for asynchronous activities, while Zoom will facilitate live lectures and discussions for synchronous learning.
Course Fees:
- CCNAPI Members: P2,000
- Non-Members: P2,500
Inclusions: Pre- and post-examinations, online handouts, case scenarios, e-Certificate, and PRC-BON credit units.
Course Requirements:
To successfully complete the course, participants must:
- Attend all sessions as tracked by Zoom’s attendance report.
- Maintain active participation with cameras on throughout the course.
- Complete all seven case assignments.
- Pass the comprehensive exam (1 hour) on the 6th day.
- Submit daily evaluations.
